Cecilia received a degree in Law, with honours, from the University of Genoa. She obtained her professional qualification in 2004, after which she spent time in London working for a number of international law firms and at a P&I Club.
Cecilia joined Studio Legale Camera Vernetti in 2010, as a partner, after having worked at a prestigious law firm specializing in maritime law. Cecilia works on behalf of numerous Italian and foreign insurance companies, insurance brokers, ship owners, charterers, P&I Clubs, shipyards and other shipping agents. She has acquired significant experience in commercial litigation, including domestic and foreign arbitration proceedings, and has also gained great expertise in the yacht sector, where she assists private individuals and shipyards both in the stipulation of sale-purchase, financing and refit contracts, and in the related negotiation and development phases of commercial transactions and administrative management.
Additionally, Cecilia is a national and international transport and logistics sector expert, particularly in regards to the preparation and revision of sector contracts and to the litigation and/or out-of-court management of related complaints. She is a member of AIDIM and is deputy director of the magazine “LEXTRASPORTI”, for which she writes regularly. She has also been appointed as arbitrator by the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa and is advisor to the Chamber of Arbitration of Coffee.
She participates and is regularly invited to speak at shipping and maritime conferences.
