He graduated with honours from the University of Milan in 2007 with a thesis on “Essential facilities doctrine in ports and airports”.

He started his shipping practice as a trainee at Studio Maresca in 2007 and has been licensed lawyer in Italy in 2010. He carried out professional training periods at two law firms in London (Norton Rose and MFB) where he mainly dealt with ship financing and maritime litigation. From 2017 to 2022, he was a partner at Berlingieri Maresca and gained significant experience in litigation and contracting, mainly supporting leading shipowners and multinational companies active in the Oil&Gas and energy transition sector.

He is a member of the Italian Maritime Law Association (AIDIM) and has published case notes in the journal Il Diritto Marittimo, particularly on the liability of ship-agents.

Lorenzo participates and is regularly invited as a speaker at shipping conferences, giving talks on new trends in the industry.

In 2021, he took part in the first edition of the School of Limes, an Italian geopolitics journal.

He was a councillor of the Liguria Region in the 2010/2015 legislature and is a town councillor in Genoa since June 2022.
